Brent Pinkerton, Thasunke kan waci (Dancing Horse) Is an enrolled Oglala Lakota tribal member with a deep commitment to fostering growth and breaking generational cycles within communities. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Social Work with a minor in Chemical Dependency. His journey began in Montana, but my roots run deep on the Pine Ridge Reservation. He is a champion Men’s Traditional dancer of 22 years. As an enrolled member of the Oglala Lakota tribe, I carry the values and lessons of my culture into every facet of my life. My 11 years of experience at American Horse School, working with a diverse age range from kindergarten through eighth grade, have not only honed my skills in youth development but have also solidified my role as a positive male figure within the reservation. I take pride in the knowledge and experience I've gained, which drive my daily purpose to be a beacon of guidance and support for our youth. As a graduate of Bennett County High School, I am dedicated to the empowerment and betterment of our community through my studies in social work. My goal is to contribute to the healing and progress of our people, paving the way for a future filled with opportunity and understanding.
