Jennifer Red Owl, Paha Ainyanka (Runs for Hill), is an enrolled member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe of Porcupine, South Dakota. Jennifer received her A.A. in Early Childhood Education from Oglala Lakota College in 2016. She has dedicated most of her life to working with Indigenous youth from ages birth to kindergarten. Jennifer worked alongside Lakota speakers to preserve Lakota language in the youth she worked with in Early Head Start for 10 years. Currently Jennifer now resides in Rapid City, SD and will be pursuing her B.A. in Early Education so that she is able to continue implementing Lakota cultural curriculum for indigenous youth so that there is strong foundation of Lakota identity in indigenous children. Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren whether it be hiking, swimming or summer softball leagues. Jennifers goal in life is to continue to mentor indigenous youth and her family on the right path of life so that they can do the same for their families and community.
